Abuelo’s Vineyard is an artisan cellar that produces its wines in a traditional and sustainable way. It has 11 hectares of vine in the municipality of Toro, the geographical demarcation of Toro, D.O.
Our wine comes from old strains of over 50 years and it’s favored by the calcareous soil of Duero’s riverside and close to our vineyard, 739 meters above sea level, which provides nice and cool nights even during the vines ripening, one of the basic requirements for high quality wines.
With a philosophy focused on sustainability and respect for nature, we adopted responsible agricultural practices that encourage biodiversity and preserve the richness of the local ecosystem.
The aging is made in french oak barrels, in our cellar “Abuelo’s Vineyard”, located in a charming and historic refurbished building of over 200 years old, one of the very few in the urban center of Toro.
We are proud of our cellar, which also houses a cozy restaurant and a shop that sells our wine to the public.
In the cellar we also organize guided tours, wine tasting and other activities that include wine. In our wine elaboration, we combine artisan methods, where grapes are treated with care and patience, to extract the best of its character and expression, with the latest technology, which gives us total control over the process and rules demanded to us for being a cellar under D.O. Toro.
